Have you heard about the Nedsbar Timber Sale proposed by the BLM in the Little Applegate and Upper Applegate Valley? The Environmental Assessment was released July 2nd, and the BLM is currently accepting public comments about the Nedsbar Timber Sale. Are you concerned about the impacts this timber sale will have on our forests and communities? Do you support the Nedsbar Community Alternative? The Community Alternative was developed by local Applegate Valley residents concerned about community wildfire protection, fuel reduction and conservation. The BLM is analyzing the Community Alternative and considering it as one alternative in their Environmental Assessment.
We have until August 1, 2016 to generate and submit public comments to the BLM in support of the Community Alternative, and in opposition to the BLM Alternatives. Please come out to the Wild Wines tasting room for an evening of discussion and action with the Applegate Neighborhood Network. We will provide information, answer questions, compare the proposed Alternatives, and assist concerned community members in writing public comment letters. These letters will be submitted to the BLM in order to positively influence their decision on this project. See you there!
